Serve as bank regulatory counsel for CIBC banking entities in the U.S., including CIBC Bank USA. Responsibilities include serving as the subject matter expert on Federal Reserve Act, Federal Deposit Insurance Act, the Illinois Banking Act and related regulations, and advising various internal constituents regarding bank regulatory requirements and expectations.  Monitor relevant regulatory developments and assist with analyzing the impact of those developments on our business. Confer with banking regulators regarding requirements and expectations as necessary. Assist with oversight of the activities of the regulatory exam management team. Involvement in a broad range of other legal and risk-related matters as may be assigned from time to time.


  • Licensed Illinois lawyer with at least 10 years of experience in bank regulatory and related matters; management experience preferred; experience with a foreign banking organization a plus
  • Experience in a major law firm and in-house position preferred; experience working for one of the banking regulatory agencies a plus
  • Graduate of an accredited law school
